An Honours degree takes one year and is an opportunity to devote 90% of your time to a research project.
A PhD at USyd is a research degree that lasts about 3.5 years.
PhD students are supported by a stipend, currently $35,000 per year (tax-free). Additional top-up scholarships are sometimes available, including through the Sydney Quantum Academy.
